Your curls are trying to tell you something...

I'm so glad you're here!

Each month I share a little curly hair education to help you understand your curls and care for them with less confusion and more confidence.

Beautiful curls don't happen by accident. They happen when you learn what your hair NEEDS.

If your curls seem unpredictable, they're probably trying to tell you something.

Instead of guessing, or buying another styling product- I see you 😉 - start by understanding what's happening beneath the surface.

A Few Curl Truths

  • There isn't a magic styling product.

Healthy curls come from the right routine, not a miracle product.

  • Your wash day matters more than your styler.

Great curls begin with cleansing, conditioning, and proper product application.

  • Volume doesn't always require layers.

Often, styling technique makes a bigger difference than the haircut itself.

  • Hormones can change your curls.

It's normal for your curl pattern to shift over time.

The more you understand your curls, the less you have to guess.

Less Confusion.

More Confidence.

This is exactly why the first step in the

LDH Signature Method

is Discovery. Discovery

Before I touch your hair, I learn everything I can about your curls.

We cover everything that could be affecting your curls, including:

🌀 your ROUTINE

🌀 the products you use

🌀 do you diffuse or air dry?

🌀 your biggest frustrations,

🌀 how your lifestyle may be affecting your curls

🌀 and more.

Why does this matter?

Because even the best haircut won't perform if your routine isn't supporting it.

I learn about your curls first, so that I can create a haircut and plan that's customized just for you.

When you understand your curls, caring for them becomes so much easier.

From the consultation chair

These are two of the most common things I hear during the Discovery phase of an appointment:

💬 "My curls are flat and don't start at the top."

There are several reasons this can happen, from styling technique to product buildup to air drying. I break them all down in this blog post: Read it here →

💬 "My hair is so dry, no matter what I do."

My first question is always: Is it really dry? Sometimes what feels like dryness is actually product buildup.

If it is truly dry, we'll take a closer look at your conditioning routine. One of the biggest game changers for many of my guests is learning Squish to Condish technique.

Any questions, just email me at lori@lorideckerhair.com, I'm happy to help.
